Hit billing.purevpn.com/aff.php?aff=23180 to fully set up PureVPN PPTP on TP-Link router today!
Before you begin, please make sure that:
You have a working internet connection
PPTP Supported Router
A Premium PureVPN account (if you haven’t bought it yet, click billing.purevpn.com/aff.php?aff=23180 to buy)
Please follow below steps to configure PureVPN manually on TP-Link Router:
1. Please go through from the given description in image.
2. This image shows that how your VPN setup will look like.
3. Access your router control panel and click on ‘Network’ from the left panel and then click ‘WAN’.
4. In ‘WAN Connection Type’ select ‘PPTP/Russia PPTP’ from drop down menu.
5. Type in your PureVPN ‘Username’ and ‘Password’ in respective fields as provided by PureVPN.
6. Select ‘Dynamic IP’.
7. In ‘Service IP Address’ field Insert your desired server address in ‘VPN Server’. Click billing.purevpn.com/pptp_l2tp_hostname_list.php to get server list.
And to use dedicated IP in router, just enter your dedicated IP address in Server IP Address Name OR where you enter server address.
8. Click on ‘DHCP’ and then enter Primary and Secondary DNS.
9. Click on ‘Basic Security’ and enable:
SPI Firewall
PPTP Passthrough (IMPORTANT)
L2tp Passthrough
IP Sec Passthrough
10. Choose whether you would like to be reconnected manually, on demand or always.
11. When you have done the above, click on “Save”.
PS:
1) Huawei routers does not offer either PPTP or OpenVPN support and in this case PureVPN cannot be setup. However, if your router has PPTP or OpenVPN options and does not work as modem then it should work fine.
2) If your TP-Link router has a specific PPoE configuration that allows your ISP's IPTV service to be recognised automatically, you will not be able to configure VPN on this router as it does not have both PPTP or OpenVPN options.
3) If, under WAN it keeps saying connecting (Never connected), and/or A PPTP router setup is 90% Slower than the Windows software, kindly go to Security tab and disable SPI Firewall and enable PPTP passthrough option. In case, you still face this issue then kindly connect using IP address instead of hostname.
4) If you're also having trouble connecting your PS3 trough wireless, you are suggested to to change the DNS of PS3 to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.
5) To use Chinese server successfully, Kindly try to connect with cn-hn1.pointtoserver.com server.
6) If your ADSL operator offers its wireless Internet network, you are suggested to first connect ADSL to Router and check the Internet connection on router then configure VPN on router.
