Case study 1: If you're running some old version of Windows...
Solution 1:
If you're also using some security software, uninstall the antivirus app completely using the recommended uninstall tool PRO in this video, restart your PC whenever the removal is completed. And then re-try installing the newer Windows on your current system later.
Solution 2: Perform a disk clean including cleaning up system files. And, delete those Windows update files.
