This forum thread contains clear, and easy to understand instructions on how to uninstall Sophos Home from Windows 10 and Mac. This post also contains extra tips, but has also been written in such a way so that you can remove the Sophos Home software, thoroughly. Please complete the steps in the correct order and, please back up all of your personal stuff (e.g., documents, bookmarks, etc.) before continuing. If you're very uncomfortable making changes to your operating system manually or following the directions given blow, please STOP and run the recommended uninstall tool PRO accordingly. Additionally, you may get the most out of this removal guide, so you can rid of Sophos Home Premium and Free (for Windows/Mac).
In order to get rid of Sophos Home on Windows, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Save your work. For Windows 10 users, disable Fast Startup to do a 'hard' reboot on your computer.
Step 2: Uninstall the target antivirus app from your own programs list under Control Panel. Please refer to the following screenshots we attached.
(Launch the Uninstall option.)
(Make UAC allow you to run the above application.)
(Hit the Uninstall tab on the Sophos Home (Uninstaller) window.)
(Sit tight...)
(Just ignore some alerts from Sophos Home you're uninstalling.)
(Quit the Sophos Home uninstall wizard.)
Step 3: Try detecting and wiping all instances (leftovers & components) of Raptr, such as installation information that has been left in file system and/or Registry Editor.
And, to erase Sophos Home from your Mac, please use these info:
1. Press the Command key + the Space in the same time.
2. Now, type "remove sophos home" or "Re" without quotation, then choose the correct option/result - here, we need the help of "Remove Sophos Home".
3. Double click on that application.
4. Press the Continue button on the "Sophos Home Removal Application" below.
5. Correctly enter your Mac password to proceed w/ the app removal process.
6. Then, you have to wait.
7. Close the uninstall application.
8. Try cleaning up Sophos-related leftovers & components after rebooting your Mac.
Last but not least, remove your own computer (name) in your Sophos account@ cloud.sophos.com/manage/home, to free up the consumed device-count. To do that, choose one device, then hit the light blue Remove link.
You may even deactivate your Sophos account later. To do this, head to cloud.sophos.com/manage/home/account, then launch the last option "Delete My Account".
