( You may skip the below content and learn how to uninstall ScanGuard 1.0 manually! )
This forum thread contains clear, and easy to understand instructions on how to uninstall ScanGuard 1.0 from Windows 10 and Mac. This post also contains extra tips, but has also been written in such a way so that you can remove the ScanGuard 1.0 software, thoroughly. Please complete the steps in the correct order and, please back up all of your personal stuff (e.g., documents, bookmarks, etc.) before continuing. If you're very uncomfortable making changes to your operating system manually or following the directions given blow, please STOP and run the recommended uninstall tool PRO accordingly. Furthermore, we recommend disabling or uninstalling Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 as well, if you too were asked to install that component.
Regarding the term PUP, you should always beware of optional installations when running any other downloads you get from the web. You had better always proceed with the custom install and uncheck anything you just don't know, or that seems questionable/worrying. If you have any further questions at any point, please feel free to make a comment on this mini troubleshooting guide.
