Not sure if you can uninstall Spotify successfully? Archieving the goal can be very simple with the right approach and technology. Post below would be very helpful: not only it comes up with a better (complete) solution than others' but your probability of clearing out any other unwanted programs once and for all. And, it'll be definitely easier to use an uninstall tool PRO that works for your operating system. One more thing, please don't make any changes to your system/device until you have a full backup.
Part 1: Here's how to rid of the Mac version of Spotify.
1. Sign in to your own Spotify account, then save or download all of personal playlists and/or other data you want to re-use later.
2. Log out your Spotify ID.
3. Mimimiz the huge GUI. Run Activity Monitor in Utilities folder.
4. Locate the running app. Hit the i icon. Note down all of output information that's been listed under the "Open Files and Ports" tab.
5. Force the app to quit when ready.
6. Re-head to the Applications file folder, try moving Spotify to the Trash icon directly.
7. Reboot your Mac later.
8. Head over to the Users & Groups setting, then you need to delete the active Spotify from the Login Items portion. And if you can detect & erase other remains properly, you can maintain your hard disk health effectively. BTW, For Windows users, it's just more of the same.
Part 2: Uninstall Spotify for Windows:
1. Since the app has set itself to run with your OS automatically, exit it first.
2. Further to the above step, run Task Manager, then look into the Processes tab and terminate the following SpotifyWebHelper (32bit) manually.
3. Afterwards, if I were you, I'd save the Control Panel icon on the desktop and hit the "Uninstall a program" link in it.
4. Locate the app from Spotify AB (version number should be 1.0.45.186 or newer). Then, press the Enter key, or launch the option Uninstall on the programs list.
5. From the below "Uninstall Spotify" window, click on the OK button. The uninstallation process will be done in seconds.
In fact, uninstalling Spotify for Linux, for Android, and/or for Windows Phone is really not an issue. I am just guessing.
a. If you installed Spotify in your Linux, try the below commands to get rid of that client:
sudo apt-get remove spotify-client or,
sudo dpkg -r spotify-client - this option should work if you installed the package manually.
Other options you can try:
sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get purge spotify-client
b. If you don't wanna use Spotify anymore, you do the following on your smart phone(s):
Uninstall Spotify from your device (either Android or Windows Phone) by going to 'Settings' -> 'Apps' then scroll to the target app and tap on it. Once loaded stop the app from running, then tab 'Uninstall'.
