This post helps fix error code 0x80248014 while trying to updating your Windows 10.
Suggestion 1: Rename temporary folder SoftwareDistribution
Stop Windows Update service by using command net stop WuAuServ
rename the folder SoftwareDistribution by accessing this path@ %windir%
Re-run Windows Update service by using net start WuAuServ
Suggestion 2: Perform a threat check using an up-to-date security program like Norton Security in this video. E.G.,
Other voice: uninstall ZoneAlarm software using the uninstall tool PRO in this video.
Suggestion 3: reset Windows Updates Components, restart the computer and check again.
1. gain the admin access and run the below commands one by one:
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
2. rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder:
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
3. restart the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services:
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
(Optional) 4. reset store cache using command WSReset.exe
PS: If you met Error code: 0x80248014 while trying to install .NET Framework 3.5 security update, try renaming the Software Distribution folder and restarting the WUA service (Suggestion 1 above.)
