This POST helps fix error code 0xc0000225 while trying to activate your Windows, to run Windows Defender, to connect your PC to Internet, and/or to run the Mail app for Windows 10.
1. If you're facing the Windows Activation error above, do the following:
1) Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
2) Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then click Restart.
3) Do one of the following:
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode with command prompt, press Enter
4) Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights. Re-enable Software Licensing service, and set the option Automatic to that item.
Plan B:
1) run the Microsoft Accounts Troubleshooter@ go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=268424
2) try re-enabling Software Protection Service
to give permission to Software Protection service, follow the steps provided below:
Press Windows + R keys, Type services.msc, press enter.
Select System protection service right click on it and click properties
Select Log-on tab
Click browse select the user account click apply and OK.
3) try activating your Windowsby phone: slui.exe 4
4) If the above steps do not help, restore your system to a point time before you made some serious changes.
If you're having trouble logging into your Microsoft account on your computer:
re-enable Microsoft Account Sign-in assistant in Service
and, you may also create a new Microsoft Account using the same ID.
To do so, you need to login to the local account and create a new Microsoft Account with administrator privileges and then delete the old account. See more info@ support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13951/windows-create-user-account
If you're having trouble using Windows Defender:
through the admin access, command:
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
If the error continues, put your system in Clean Boot state
If you can't use internet connection properly:
Method 1: run Network troubleshooter
Method 2:
Step 1 : Safe mode with networking
Step 2 : Clean boot
If you can't use Windows 10 mail app: try sfc/scannow
other voices:
Method 1: Try repairing the store, WSReset.exe (admin access)
Method 2:
Open Powershell as administrator
Run the command
command:
Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
Method 3: Change the Sync Settings in the Mail App
On Search, click on “Mail” to open the Mail App.
Click on “Settings”.
Click on “Accounts”.
Click on your email account from the list of accounts.
Select the option “Email” under the section “Change mail box Sync settings”.
