Suggestion 1: Rename temporary folder SoftwareDistribution Stop Windows Update service by using command net stop WuAuServ rename the folder SoftwareDistribution by accessing this path@ %windir% Re-run Windows Update service by using net start WuAuServ Suggestion 2: Perform a threat check using an up-to-date security program like Norton Security in this video. E.G., Other voice: uninstall ZoneAlarm software using the uninstall tool PRO in this video. Suggestion 3: reset Windows Updates Components, restart the computer and check again. 1. gain the admin access and run the below commands one by one: net stop wuauserv net stop cryptSvc net stop bits net stop msiserver 2. rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder: ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old 3. restart the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services: net start wuauserv net start cryptSvc net start bits net start msiserver (Optional) 4. reset store cache using command WSReset.exe
PS: If you met Error code: 0x80248014 while trying to install .NET Framework 3.5 security update, try renaming the Software Distribution folder and restarting the WUA service (Suggestion 1 above.)

net stop WuAuServ
Click Start, Run, type: %windir% and press Enter. In the opened folder, rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SDold. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following command in the opened window.
net start WuAuServ
Please go to the Windows Update site to test this issue. If that works then it was a corrupted Windows Update file and we needed to remove the folder in which it resides.
